A day off I'll try to answer a few questions. CRIBS:There are hundreds of cribs in the tff. They are located in a min. of around 14' on the edges of original lake basins and river channels they can hold all species of fish panfish sometimes on top aprox. 5'higher then depth of water crib is in,walleyes tight to the base or sometimes 30' away. Among other areas there are cribs in Baraboo,Bastine,Mud, Rat,Sweeney,Horshoe,Townline, and Merkle. They are not on a lakemaster chip or any other chip that I know of. Camping lot of great places to camp,F-16 and F-17 are very nice sites just need to be aware of the hazards. From the narrows in front of F-16 to the narrows in front of R-31 is a mine field of verticle trees in deeper water still attached to the bottom. If you were ever there in oct. when the water is low you would never drive thru that area at full speed. As far as safely following the river channel it is a boat length wide and winds thru there like a snake. The water level is somewhere around 2'below full pool you can check out the site previously mentioned to be exact. Fishing report to follow. |
