Fishing since last report has been fair to very good. On the slower days limits of walleyes can take some time to put together but will be taken with some persistence. Working deeper wood structure, mid lake humps, edges of humps and edges of river channels. we have taken very few fish in less then 12'this week, even the days with a big chop we didn't do well on 8-11'humps. Yesterday we had a limit of walleyes in the morning we didn't bother fishing under 12'We threw 1/16-1/8oz. jigs with a half crawler. Zack rememberd the slip bobber fishing last year and wanted to do some of that so we did a little more catch and release walleye fishing on deep sand/wood humps 12-14. Iwas curios about the minnow bite and put a couple out on bobbers they were the only poles that didn't catch fish. This last week since the weather warmed again the minnows have not been as appealing. Smallmouths have been scattered but we are catching some nice bass on the deeper wood they have been taking leeches and crawlers; casting, bobbers and dead stick. Panfish: I don't do a lot of panfishing did some this week got to say I did have a lot of fun with it, in particular yesterday afternoon we caught some big bluegills and perch in shallow water. We had some 9" gills on bobbers with a third of a crawler. Had one day this week that was big fish day in the mix was a 21"walleye,27"northern(nice for the tff)and a heavy 19-1/2"smallmouth. Fished with a lot of fun people this week including the opportunity to guide for some families. Wish I could post all the great pictures. Thank you very much for choosing my guide service |
