rvr rat there are muskies spread throughout the TFF it is a matter of finding structure that holds the fish or more aptly structure they relate to when they're feeding. I occasionally see them when walleye fishing, they can hold next to an individual pc. of shallow structure like a big stump in 5', the edge of a 4'stump flat in 8'where the walleyes and perch are , 8'in submerged bog,6' another piece of structure that holds all types of fish. In the last month we've seen or caught fish chewed on by them. As I mentioned before one grabbed a hooked 18" walleye. They are like big northwoods bucks they are where you find them.

twitter 101 mid lake humps are off shore areas surrounded by deeper water some of these humps are small, size of a living room, some 100yds in dia. or more. When I'm out scouting I often try to imagine that it is 1925 what did this area of the forest look like(dam 1926)some of these humps or knolls in the forest were pretty barren others had 100 year old white pines on them and rocky sandy soil these are the ones that hold fish. There are areas that I would guess had stands of big hemlocks etc. These humps are all over the flowage there are a lot of them on the big water side.

fishs 57 the smallmouth can be hard to find in late sept usually deeper wood and structure in and edge of river channels. Drop shot, dead stick bigger minnows, slow presentation.
