Was pleasantly surprised with the fishing this week.
My favorite weather is overcast and a 20-30mph wind with the hot-hot temps and flat calm water I was nervous. Had three guide trips and had nice catches of walleyes some big perch and lots of smallmouths. On the July 7th trip with father and son, J.J and Gage we had a lot of fun catching smallmouths and after several spots caught are limit of 9 walleyes along with a few nice perch. The fishing that day was slower for walleyes than the previous days.  Fish this week came from 7-13 fow some areas had softer bottoms some sand and rock the common denominater was all had some type of wood on the bottom. We fished with 1/2 crawlers and leeches and 1/16th oz. jigs. The crawlers this week way outperformed the leeches and most days stopped using the leeches but that can vary day to day. That was a nice catch of fish, Kurt, Nate, and Jerry. (hottest day of the summer!) Thank you very much to the people who choose to fish with me.
