The late summer fishing that included a few days where you had to work a lot of good spots to come up with a catch of walleyes is over. The last five times out we've caught 20-40 walleyes on each trip and some very nice crappies. The fish have been biting aggressively. The smallmouth however have not been to prevalent in the structure we are mainly working, but we do get an occasional nice fish. Yesterday anchored in one spot we caught perch, rock bass, walleyes, smallmouth and crappies. A good number of the fish are being caught on the edges of the original river channels in 12-17' finding the structure and positioning the boat is the key to catching the fish. We have used extra large fatheads exclusively and 1/16oz. slow-fall jigs, mostly casting not doing as much slip bobber fishing as in summer.

I haven't spent much time yet fishing the deeper fall pattern walleyes, caught some nice crappies and a few small walleyes when we tried one fall area don't know if there are numbers in these areas yet or not. We are getting some nicer walleyes doing what we're doing one day we released 17-19" fish after having our limit of 14-16" in the live well. We did get some fish in 8-9' boulders a spot I check in the fall. Have the next couple weekends booked but lot of other time open it's my favorite time of year for walleye fishing, not a better time to be on the TFF.
