| FISHING REPORT 5/10/14 10:32 PM CST Conditions: Sunny Air Temp: 66° - 70° F Water Temp: 46° - 50° F The fishing has been as good as it gets. Spent the day with avid husband and wife fishing team who fish a lot of different water and they were truly impressed with the TFF, we caught a lot of fish. There are fish moving in the river channels in 14-19' although some of our bigger fish came from fast dropping rocky shorelines in 10-12'. Our biggest fish was a 20", released, we did keep some bigger spawned out fish, we didn't see females with eggs a lot of the males still had milt. Largely absent from the catch so far have been smallmouth we did have a few nice ones today, Greg tied into a beautiful 19". Probably my favorite way to fish, casting jigs, one rod, it would have been unmanageable to even have deadsticks out. 1/8 oz. e-large fatheads. Bring plenty of bait, there is nothing worse then running out of bait. It was kind of funny I met Greg and Carrol at the bait shop (Turtle River Trading Co.) I said 4-scoops I could tell by the look on Gregs face that he thought I was just trying to generate minnow sales, at the end of the day we had a laugh over going through all the minnows. |
