| FISHING REPORT 5/17/14 7:35 AM CST Conditions: Partly Sunny Air Temp: 46° - 50° F Water Temp: 51° - 55° F Fished with a lot of nice people since my last report. Thanks for the compliments Nisif and HRG. Wanted to wait and do a report when the fishing was tough don't want people to think they are always jumping in the boat. Tuesday we fished with ice fishing clothes on as we greeted the dreaded May cold front, high of around 45*, strong north wind. We did find a lot of active fish in the deeper river channels but they were small, our only big fish came from shoreline wood in 6'.Even on a tough day we came up with a nice shore lunch and sent customers home with some fish, a couple pike and perch to round out a catch. Enjoyed fising with Jeff and Cheyenne she was an impressive fisherperson I think near the end she was fishing more intensly then we were. Yesterday the bite was back pretty good we caught a lot of walleyes many were in the 13-14" range ,we kept 15-17" fish. We had a mixed bag catch that included smallmouth, rock bass, perch, pike, a lone crappie and of course walleye. Terry caught a beautiful 31.5" pike, very nice fish for the TFF. We made a trip to an area I fish a couple times spring and fall we caught a lot of walleyes in an area 8-13 with current. We fished shallow water also. For walleyes in the next week I will be fishing a lot of rock in as little as 2-8' both shoreline and off shore humps. And shallow wood 4-8'. Have a great week of fishing. |
