The fishing has been good but back to normal. The first couple weeks of the fishing season with catches most days in the 40-80 fish range and a lot of 17"+ walleyes was as good as the TFF gets for spring fishing. There were a lot of fish concentrated in river holes, number days like this will be not be common again until mid/late September. A more typical day was Sunday ( thanks for the compliments Papablaze), in the morning we had pretty steady action on a variety of fish, kept a few nice walleyes for lunch, released quite a few small fish. After lunch we had to work several good spots with not a lot of fish caught until late in the day we found a concentration of 14-16" walleyes.
The last couple days I spent with David and Sue we had some pretty good fishing, released a lot of nice fish , kept limits of 15-17" fish along with a 13&14" crappie yesterday and a few other bonus species while we walleye fished.
Monday morning we worked some wood and rock humps with few fish caught. When the rain and wind came we went to some shallow wood and did well drifting and casting rapalas, we also did well slip bobbin an 8' hump with wood.
Did fish some rock the last few days but did best in 4-8' with wood cover on the bottom, had a few nice fish in deep wood as well.
It's looking like it's going to a real good season on the TFF.
