| FISHING REPORT 6/1/14 11:15 PM CST Conditions: Cloudy Air Temp: 66° - 70° F Water Temp: 66° - 70° F The conditions today were perfect for a shallow water bite, nice chop dark skies we had 50-60 walleyes and some nice perch in a 6 hour trip for one of the better days of the season. I have the same group of fisherman again this week and fore warned them that todays fishing will be a tough act to follow. We kept a nice limit of fish as they came in the boat 14-18" , released a lot of 16-18" fish. We had crawlers, leeches and fatheads, only a doz. leeches they went fast, fatheads were working well for us also, last place crawlers. After fishing I went scouting , in a few hours of scouting I pressed the mark button 7 times which is more then I have sometimes found in 10 hours. I still occasionally bounce the window weight. I couldn't help to get the weight out on one spot, a sharp break from 5 to 8' with big stumps on top and giant boulders on the slope and base. Finding spots like this is more exciting then catching fish for me. Incidently I have driven over this spot hundreds of times at 30mph and never saw the structure. Had the slowest day of the season for walleyes on thur. bright skies and flat water didn't help. Between my boat and follow boat only kept 5 walleyes , did catch and release a lot of small ones. As I've said before even on tough days there is a lot of opportunity for catch and eat on the TFF. I cleaned 12 perch and 9 pike along with the walleyes for a shore lunch and meal to take home. |
