FISHING REPORT

Conditions: Partly Sunny Air Temp: 66° - 70° F Water Temp: 66° - 70° F
The prime time June walleye bite has been back on the last few days. Had two half day trips yesterday. With the dark skies yesterday morning we did very well in shallow water, in the afternoons sun and small chop we did the best in 10-12' with wood structure and hard bottom and another area in 7-8' with hard bottom and big stumps. Interestingly in the morning we caught most of our fish on fatheads and in the afternoon most on 1/2 crawlers. We fished with slip bobbers and cast slow fall weedless jigs.

Big fish the last couple days: young Isiah and Jerry each with 19" smallmouth ( I measure them if around 18, by my estimate a 19" is around one in 75 smallmouth)

Today I fished with Jerry and his group, we needed a second guide this year, so I had the pleasure of teaming up with Don Pemble. Don and I left the customers Dock (Cry of the Loon Resort) at around 8:15, we went our separate ways and returned to their dock at 12:30. In 4 hours of fishing we had the combined catch in the stringer picture, with 5 happy customers.

The group in my boat did the best in 11-13' on slip bobbers and casting jigs over sand, some rock and laid down logs and stumps near the edge of a river channel.

I had talked about guiding for about 10 years, Don helped me get started , it was really nice to team up with him today. It has been a great life! If it weren't for my appointment book I wouldn't know what day it is, they all feel like Saturday, thanks Don!
