| FISHING REPORT 8/11/14 10:28 PM CST Conditions: Sunny Air Temp: 76° - 80º F Water Temp: 71° - 75° F The fishing has been good/very good most days even the flat water and bright sky days have been yielding good catches of fish. The first week in August seems to be the most popular week for family vacations. I have enjoyed many days with kids in the boat the last week and a half.Fishing mostly deeper wood and rock structure in 10-18'. For most bodies of water flat water hot weather and sunny skies can make for some difficult walleye fishing, working the right structure on the TFF will produce fish even on these days. The smallmouth have been very active with a lot of bigger fish being caught on the same structure as the walleyes. Have also had nice perch and blue gills mixed in with the walleye and smallmouth. I like to make a point of posting my toughest fishing day which was in fact this morning. Steady rain, nice chop I thought Mike and I would make quick work of a limit of walleyes. After a morning of fishing we had two walleyes, a perch and a 16" sm in the live well, we did release small walleyes and sm. Some days you get on the fish in the first few spots other days it takes a while to dial in on them, in a half day trip I can teach customers what to look for and how to catch them but sometimes it takes a full day to accumulate a live well full of fish. Some of the recent trips can best be shown in pictures, here are some photos. I've had a great time fishing with everyone who has shared a seat in my boat. Thank You. |
