Today, a chance to take my wife fishing for the afternoon ( her first time this year) it was a beautiful warm afternoon with a nice breeze blowing. We were on our way to fisherman's landing and at the last minute decided to turn into the Trude landing instead. I don't know what the fish were doing the last few days but they were biting well this afternoon. We caught a mixed bag of fish in 12-17'. We kept a dozen big bluegills up to 9-1/2" we released a lot of fish, could have easily kept a limit but even with no fish in the freezer didn't see a need to keep more than we did. The gills bit aggressively we even caught several on extra large fatheads but most were on crawlers. We did also catch and release a few nice smallmouth in the deeper water and one on a fast dropping rocky shoreline. It was only my second time on Trude this year I find it interesting how much difference there is in the transparency of the water with the connected body, Trude, being much clearer. Will post a report before the weekend. |
