You can also put in at fisherman's landing and canoe south then east to get to the area you mentioned. If you want to try to get a campsite with a picnic table, there are closer sites coming from Fisherman's if that is not a concern, coming from Murray's has the advantage of the body of water being a little more wind sheltered as it is winding and narrower. There are a lot of nice sites "r" or rustic sites along your path heading mostly west. There is good fishing on that end of the flowage often in May there are a lot of walleyes still relating to the river channel from their spawning migration east. An 1/8 oz. jig and minnow fishing the holes often works best. Have fun. |
