I hovered around the landing area today, hoping my customers would show up, they tried calling to let me know they were lost and going to be an hour and a half late (coming from Hayward) but my answering machine was full. Sorry if anyone tried to call and couldn't get a message to me. I found one new notable spot within view of the landing ile I waited then  threw a buoy on some fish in 16' on a waypoint with wood at the base of the slope of the river channel. Was going to fish a different spot at one for hopeful customerswhen I saw a vehicle pull up to the landing, my fisherman.

It may sound like an oversimplification but as I've said before in my estimation there are days when almost all of the fish will bite, days when almost none bite and most days somewhere in between. Today with the exception of the 16' fish under the buoy ,all the other fish we found bit and bit aggressively. We found fish at the end of an underwater point with stumps on the end in 10' fish in 6' , most of our fish however were in very shallow water around 4' and less, wood, stuff I mainly don't try unless dark skies.

Today shore lunch was cancelled due to rain, at days end I sat in my boat and cleaned fish for 45 minutes in the heavy rain, man! I need some new rain gear! Price is no object I just want it to work and last at least 5 years. If anyone has had rain gear for 5 years with a substantial amount of use and it still works please e-mail me, I don't check the messenger on this site often  don't know if they still have it with the new format.

The last three days my customers have ranged in age from 6 years old to today 88 year old Kieth. Tue. and wed. I had three guide trips and fished with a father and 3 sons, a late day trip with now teens Aiden and Porter who I've guided the last 5 years and yesterday a father and 6,8,10 and 12 year old sons. I had a lot of fun but will say I had several cocktails last night after fishing. For a guide kids are your potential future customers, treat them well.

Yesterday we had some nice smb on the dead stick with leeches one 18", let the young guys battle them, fun to watch (wood 6' ) Today was the first day I didn't bring minnows, the leeches have finally been starting to catch walleyes but have done better over all on the crawlers. We have been getting a lot of smallmouth, occasionally keeping a few in the 13" range and releasing all over including any over the 18' slot, another today over 18'. We've also released some walleyes over 20" recently.

I've had some slow fishing the last few weeks but on an all day trip even on a slow bite day we've been catching fish, on one slow bite day with a "tag-a -long boat" with 5 adults we had no problem catching more perch and walleyes than they could eat. I haven't been guiding for a long time (6th year) but the last few weeks it has been incredible how few people have been out fishing, least I have ever seen.

Today limit of 9 walleyes 14-16, gills just under 9" and perch up to 12" one a little over 12".

I enjoy posting  pictures but had some trouble getting them on the site recently, thought I better have friend Elliot from Loon-a-tech come over tonight to figure it out, thinking for a lot of people who have fished the tff the last few weeks a picture might be worth a thousand words. Going to send this and follow up with a few pics.
