In Florida doing some fishing in the Keys, called home I guess we've gotten about 10" of snow in the last week or so. Temps have gotten down to the single digits some nights, I'm sure there is plenty of ice, snow depth probably not too bad on the lakes for atv's. I've read the dialog on walleye size limits, nice to see constructive ideas and opinions. The DNR is looking for input on a potential rule change for the TFF. A proposal on the table for more public input is a 3 walleye limit with a 12" minimum one fish could be over 15" This would be a special rule change specific to the TFF, it is outside of the biologist's menu of options and requires a longer approval process. Last post by I think it was Lundfisher best describes my overall opinion. Science should be an over riding factor on rules for a specific body of water. A straight up 15" min. on a fishery like the TFF would probably produce a stockpiling sub 15" male fish. My history of fishing the TFF isn't as long as some, I do agree in the 70's there was a bigger overall size structure on the flowage, I feel there were many reasons for this. |
