Welcome to the Turtle Flambeau Experience

Fishing isn’t just something we do — it’s part of who we are.

My family and I have called Turtle-Flambeau Flowage home since 2006, but our roots here go back much further. Our family cabin near the Flowage has been part of our story since 1964, and I’ve been fishing these waters since I was a kid exploring the Northwoods with a rod in hand and endless curiosity.

With more than 14,000 acres of wild water and miles of undeveloped shoreline, the Flowage is unlike anywhere else in Wisconsin. Every trip feels like an adventure. Hidden structure. Untouched bays. Endless weed edges. Secret rock bars. There’s always one more spot to discover — and that’s what keeps me coming back year after year.

While there are plenty of great lakes in the Northwoods, the Flowage stole my heart long ago.

And now, I’d love to share it with you.

More Than a Fishing Trip — It’s a Northwoods Adventure

Whether you’re an experienced angler chasing trophy fish or a family looking to make memories on the water, every trip is designed to be fun, relaxed, and unforgettable.

I fish aggressively and work hard to put clients on fish, but I also adapt to your pace and goals. Want to cover water and hunt active fish? Let’s go. Prefer a laid-back day enjoying the scenery and steady action? We can do that too.

Because at the end of the day, fishing should be really fun.

Expect laughs, stories, beautiful scenery, and hopefully a few “you should’ve seen the size of that one!” moments.

The Boat & Gear

You’ll fish from my 1890 Warrior tiller powered by a Mercury 90hp — a setup perfectly suited for the Flowage. The roomy tiller layout gives everyone space to fish comfortably, while the fiberglass hull provides a smooth ride even when the water gets rough.

I combine old-school fishing instincts with modern electronics to help find fish faster and stay on productive structure. My Humminbird side imaging and Lakemaster mapping help uncover hidden spots — although I still occasionally trust the old cast-iron sash weight method for scouting bottom transitions. Some traditions are too good to give up.

When it comes to rods, I proudly fish with St. Croix Rods — handcrafted in nearby Park Falls, Wisconsin. From light jigging to slip-bobber fishing, every setup is selected to maximize sensitivity, comfort, and fun on the water.

Shore Lunches on the Flowage

One of the highlights of many trips is the optional shore lunch experience.

There’s nothing quite like pulling up to a Northwoods island, building a campfire, and enjoying a fresh fish fry right on the shoreline. It’s a tradition that perfectly complements a day on the Flowage.

It takes a little extra work on my end, but I genuinely enjoy doing it — so much that I don’t even count the lunch break against your fishing time.

Because some memories are worth slowing down for.
